研究员,小麦种质资源创新团队首席,长期从事小麦种质资源搜集、鉴定、评价与创新研究。主要承担国家自然科学基金、国家重点研发计划、转基因专项、国家外专局高端外国专家项目和江苏省农业科技自主创新资金等项目。目前的研究方向为小麦抗病、优质基因资源的挖掘与遗传解析、分子标记开发和种质创新研究,建立了抗病耐逆、优质小麦种质资源的鉴定技术体系,筛选出抗小麦赤霉病、纹枯病和低多酚氧化酶活性等小麦种质,定位多个新基因/QTL。近年来,获江苏省科学技术奖三等奖1项、院科学技术奖一等奖1项;获得国家发明专利8项;审定小麦新品种10个,获得国家植物新品种权16个;发表论文30多篇,其中SCI 论文10余篇。先后在美国、德国和国际玉米小麦改良中心等国际高水平实验室访学与开展合作研究。
